Maxwell has played almost 171 matches for Australia in T20, ODI and Test since his international debut which was in 2012. He played the first 2 T20 matches agianst Sri Lanka in 3 match t20 series which is currently ongoing, but Glenn Maxwell has been replaced D'Arcy Short batsman.

Glenn Maxwell played county cricket for Lancashire in the summer has raised the issues with Australia support staff, was supported by Australia Cricket and his state side Victoria in his decision to take a break from the Cricket.

Psychologist Doctor of Australia Team Michael Lloyd said "Glenn Maxwell has been experiencing some difficulties with regards to his mental health, as a result, he will spend a short time away from the game.

Glenn Maxwell has scored 62 off just 28 balls in the 1st T20 against Sri Lanka but didn't bat in the 2nd t20 as Australia won that match by nine wickets.

Glenn Maxwell has been controversially left out of both the Test and one-day teams in recent years.
