Ben Askren considering retirement after losing to Demian Maia at UFC Singapore
On 26 October 2019 in the main event of UFC, Ben Askren loss to Demian Maia. After 1-2 in the UFC, he is in thinking about retiring.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani said retirement is definitely something he is considering
Ben Askren said "he would be lying to you if he said he was not, it is a time cost analysis." he said "he have many things he want to do in his life and also a really busy guy.
Askren said "he have a lot of things he is passionate about, not training specifically but from setting stuff up". He said "he spend 30 hours a week on MMA related stuff and Can I place my time better somewhere else, is definitely a thought process that crosses my mind"
He also said he needs time to spend with his family and won’t lean one way or the other for now. Yet, he knows his path to a title shot is long and one he may not want to go down, especially coz he says he does not love the sport.
